Information for visitors
The museum is accessible and barrier-free for wheelchairs and for people with mobility impairments. This also applies to the restaurant and shop; a portable ramp can be set up from the reception area to the shop.
Lift:
The top floor of the museum can be reached barrier-free via a lift (door width 79.8 cm, depth 115 cm).
Toilets:
The toilet on the first floor is accessible to wheelchairs. The door is 79 cm wide.
Exhibition:
The interactive information systems on all floors can be lowered to seat height.
Getting here:
by public transport
From Basel railway station SBB, take tram No 8 or tram No 11 to the «Barfüsserplatz» stop.
From Basel Badischer Bahnhof railway station, take tram No 6 to the «Barfüsserplatz» stop.
by car
The museum is located in the car-free centre of Basel. You can get there by car or with a local transport for disabled people (call +41 61 666 66 66 to book in advance). Short-stay parking is permitted to drop off or pick up visitors at the museum. Disabled parking is available in nearby car parks «Steinen» and «Elisabethen».
